Postdoctoral Associate, Physics and Astronomy
bin.gao@rice.edu
Bin Gao received his Ph.D. in Physics from Rutgers University in 2017 under Prof. Sang-Wook Cheong, where he trained in single-crystal growth and multiferroics. He specializes in growing high-quality single crystals—particularly via optical and high-pressure laser floating-zone methods—and employs inelastic neutron scattering, μSR, and X-ray spectroscopies to uncover emergent magnetic phenomena in quantum spin liquids, kagome and honeycomb magnets, and related systems.
Sanu Mishra
Sanu Mishra is a Research Scientist in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Rice University. Sanu joined the Morosan group at Rice in Aug 2024 following a postdoctoral position at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He performed his doctoral thesis work at the Grenoble High Magnetic Field laboratory and was awarded a PhD in Physics from the University of Grenoble Alpes, France. He is interested in unconventional superconductors and strongly correlated electron systems where the interplay between competing energy scales give rise to novel states of matter.
