Sensing the Future
Workshop 1: Biosensing
May 7-8, 2018
The Kavli Foundation presents “Sensing the Future: The Future of Sensing” workshop series, a trio of visionary, cross-disciplinary meetings at Rice University that will focus on the future of sensing technology. The meetings will bring together scientists and engineers from academia, government and industry to identify the grand challenges that could potentially be met by next-generation sensing technologies, and the fundamental scientific capabilities that will be needed to address those challenges.
Some focal topics for the first workshop in this series will include: biomedical diagnostics and imaging; implantable and wearable sensors
Featured speakers include Mikhail Shapiro and Lihong Wang from Caltech, Bruce Tromberg from UC Irvine, Cynthia Chestek from the Univ. of Michigan, Kaitlyn Crawford from Univ. of Central Florida, Scott Fraser from USC, Melissa Skala from Wisconsin, Andrew Bartko from Battelle Memorial Inst., and Lidong Qin from Houston Methodist. Speaker bios compiled here.
Registration required, by invitation only. Send inquiries to sci@rice.edu.
